After a long winter of wearing black, gray and every other neutral, I love seeing pops of color on people as I walk on campus and around town. A new color that’s becoming popular this season is strawberry ice, which was featured in Pantone Color Institute’s spring fashion colors for 2015.
If you’re staying at home over spring break, don’t feel envious with the overload of photos taken from classmates who are in Mexico, Florida or anywhere warmer than 40 degrees. You can stay stylish in Western New York and add some color to your look like this Fashionista.
I love how this Fashionista kept her look weather-appropriate and fun for a day out. Whether you’re running errands or meeting a friend for lunch, you can dress casual and rock current trends. Strawberry ice is a color you will want to add to your wardrobe. It’s a refreshing shade of pink that will have you lusting for warmer weather. It’s also very versatile for different occasions and styles. Just make sure to complement the color with appropriate colors, or wear neutrals. This Fashionista wore black leggings, matching black boots and simple accessories like stacked bracelets making her outfit consistent and comfortable.
Another touch I like is the layered denim vest. I’m used to seeing faux fur or winter vests, so this was a great feature to her outfit. It adds a ’90s-inspired, sporty vibe. We all know that ’90s style is trendy for 2015, so try a denim vest for a cool look.
How To:Â Find a long tunic sweater or top to layer over a pair of leggings. Bonus points if you can find a top in strawberry ice. Layer a denim vest over your top. Add boots and additional accessories that will complement your outfit.
