I have always been a firm believer in the saying “less is more.” I find this particularly true when I’m faced with the dreaded task of dressing myself in the morning. I am always tempted to pair a fun, embellished top with a detailed pant. But, as with everything, there is a time and place for that, and it is not to my 9:30 am class. So when I came across this look on campus, I was inspired by the Fashionista’s simplistic look and delicate details.
The first thing that stood out to me was the loose-fitted, two-toned top. Mainly because it included two of my favorite neutral colors, white and gray, but also because of how nicely it fell around the Fashionista. The two-toned top is the perfect way to spruce up an outfit, without going too far. The idea to pair it with a delicate, white bralette was the perfect way to achieve an effortless look.
The next thing that I obsessed over was the suede, gray choker. We all know how chokers are such a statement right now and we can find a way to pair them with almost everything. The thing I liked the most about this one was the multiple layers and dainty gold accents—it gave the look a type of sophisticated edge. Plus, I love the idea of being able to play around with how you style the choker. Girls have got to have options, right?
Another small detail that complemented this outfit were the rings the Fashionista wore. They were of various sizes, one large and one small. Mixing the two metals together is seriously chic and allows for the Fashionista to show off her personality. I am always a fan of breaking a few fashion rules here and there.
This outfit was tied all together with black jeans and a pair of black bootie—a perfect way to keep this look trendy and master the art of simplicity!
