While the winter weather predictions have been less than accurate as of late, it never hurts to be prepared for the worst. Rain, snow, gusty winds or even a minute of sunshine—we never know what we’re going to get. This Fashionista is smartly dressed for whatever Mother Nature sends our way.
Blue was big on the fall 2014 ready-to-wear runways. Whether head to toe as seen in the A.P.C. show or a pop of color like Alexander Wang, all of the blues were very Lana Del Rey, “Shades of Cool.” This Fashionista’s ensemble is equally as chill.
The look includes pieces that fall under the “basics” category of a wardrobe, but put together, they become an interesting, cohesive look. Navy is the main attraction of this Fashionista’s outfit, and it certainly caught my eye amidst a sea of black. From the knit detail on her loose fit coat to the weather resistant bold blue duck boots, this Fashionista’s ensemble is on point. Those blue booties really pop and add to the collegiate-cool look. The cohesive quality is further represented in the way the shoestrings pop in contrast to the blue and in complement to the tan of the coat.
Though blue is the boss of this ensemble, every piece coming together makes it such a great “I win, weather” outfit. The inclusion of a gray hooded sweatshirt is ace for when that sudden bout of precipitation decides to make an appearance in the day.
This Fashionista’s ensemble had me feeling the winter blues in the best way.
How To: Tired of the same old black? Follow suit and bust out the blues in your closet—from a little pop of color to an all out aquatic hued appearance. Sport a pair of cobalt kicks or a sapphire satchel, and you’ll be feeling those blues all the winter season through.
