Every college student should travel at least once during their college career. It expands your boundaries and gives you a wider perspective on life. You get to be part of a whole new culture and the living standards of the country you’re in for a short while. You also get to experience new people who are foreign to your every day life and vice versa, which I find so fascinating! We are often oblivious to the lives outside of us, and traveling makes you more aware of the different customs and living standards that we aren’t so used to.
I recently had the opportunity to travel around Italy, and aside from the authentic and delicious food, the one thing that intrigued me the most was their very “laxed” culture. As a New Yorker I’m used to a convenient and fast paced work-orientated life, in Italy however, everything shuts down between 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. so if you’re visiting the fun part is you’ll get to spend the day like a local would!
It was during these hours that I spotted this Fashionista. If you’ve been following my articles you know that I’m a sucker for an all-black everything look, styled with unique details. I loved her pink studded Converse shoes that went perfectly with her entire ensemble and added an extra edge to her outfit. However, my favorite thing about her look was her T-shirt—ÂI mean what’s a T-shirt without your favorite emoji on it?  The emoji was the highlight of her entire outfit, it automatically transformed an all-black edgy look into an adorable piece of art. I liked how this Fashionista chose a leather jacket to be the finishing touch to her outfit. It kept her warm and comfortable (it was chilly in Italy) and made her look chic and stylish.
How To: Find a pair of black pants in your closet and pair it up with any black jacket. Don’t forget to pair your outfit with funky colored shoes—you can even do a cool DIY and add studs yourself or draw on the shoes—and finish it off with an adorable graphic T-shirt. Make sure the T-shirt and the shoes are the focus of your look.
