Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about details. When living in a small college town with limited cute stores, ultimately every girl begins to wear different versions of the exact same look. What makes your look unique? How does your style stand out? My answer: details, details, details.
I found this well dressed Fashionista outside the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Human Ecology, where she majors in fashion design, and informed me that she had made this top as an assignment! Not only did I love how the mix of patterns put a spin on the common off-the-shoulder style, but I also loved the double sleeve for a flirty day to night top.
I also liked the way this Fashionista had styled her own top. Nothing ties an outfit together like a classic belt! Although this seems like a simple addition, it can make any outfit (day or night) seem just a bit more trendy. I prefer a belt with a bit of flare, maybe with more metal, but even a simple black belt can do the trick. Her brown corduroy pants also added a fun spin to the outfit, and a simple pair of black jeans would easily turn this into the perfect going out look.
This Fashionista is also wearing one of my new favorite outfit tricks, colored booties. This may seem super simple, but I just purchased a pair of navy booties which can turn my usual all black outfits into something a little more exciting. And of course, she’s wearing a simple necklace, my absolute favorite signature accessory!
