This Fashionista is giving the saying “all tied up” a whole new meaning! It has been really warm here in Louisville and it feels as if we’ve jumped from winter directly into summer. With this warm weather, it’s hard sitting in class, let alone looking presentable, when you’d rather be outside soaking up the sun. Not this Fashionista! She took one of the simplest pieces and turned it into a chic spring look. I was extremely inspired by this Fashionista because she showed me that putting a little effort into your appearance will put a little more pep in your step in the mornings. Who would’ve thought that shirt your brother never wears could turn into a staple piece in your closet?
The tie-front shirt trend has been around for a while. Whether it’s taking an oversized button-down like this Fashionista did, tying a knot on the side of your plain white T-shirt, or a tie-front crop top, it’s clear that the tie is hear to stay. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a classic button-down. It’s a staple and you could easily wear this a number of different ways! If you so choose to wear a tie-front top to class, make sure that the length is school appropriate.
This Fashionista completes her ensemble with a pair of ripped jeans, black lace-up booties, a large tote and lots of delicate jewelry. This combination makes for the perfect spring look.
How To: Start off with an oversized button-down to see if you’ll like the tie-front look. If you do, then you can fully start exploring the tie-front tend!
