Details in an outfit are really important because it makes you noticeable. There are so many things you can do to make your outfit “pop.” Details are a great way to give your outfit some type of personality. You never want to have too many details in one outfit because it will draw the attention away from the look you are going for.
I ran into this lovely Fashionista, Nazahah, on campus wearing a trendy outfit that could be dressed down or dressed up. One of the biggest trends right now is anything that ties up. One of my favorite things about her outfit was her tie-up jeans and mesh shirt! I had never seen tie-up jeans in person before–they’re usually really hard to find in stores. Her outfit is really versatile because it can be worn to class and then to a social gathering later. This is great for those that commute but have friends that still live on campus!
In conversation, I asked her about how she picked her outfits out for the day. She told me that she usually dresses very casual during the week and then on Friday’s, she tends to switch up style and go for the more day-to-night look just in case she has to go somewhere after class or if a fun school event pops up.
Her black mesh top is from Bebe, the black denim jacket is from Forever 21, her cute tie-up jeans are from Nordstrom, and her suede boots are from Aldo. She is also sporting a lovely rose gold Apple watch. It’s always a great idea to have at least one item apart of each outfit that will stand out to others because your outfit should definitely have some type individuality.
As Rachel Zoe says, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.”
