“I love snow… Everything’s magical when it snows, everything looks pretty. The clothes are great. Coats, scarves, gloves, hats…” -Lorelai Gilmore
With the arrival of a perfect picturesque snowfall, winter is officially here. Cozy sweaters, pretty scarves, pom-pom hats… the works! Even though you have to bundle up for winter, it provides Fashionistas with the ability to accessorize and pay attention to the little details that can make an outfit go from casual to chic. I used to look to Rachel Berry’s New York looks from Glee for inspiration, but now, I look to fellow Fashionistas for inspo! Our Fashionista’s use of accessories demonstrates awesome attention to detail; she turned a simple winter look during exams into an outfit that shouts perfection and class!
Our Fashionista chose a beautiful must-have scarf; while the grey, black and white serve as neutrals, the pale pink adds some warmth and personality. Our Fashionista chose to wear sparkly earrings that complimented the pink in her scarf, along with a simple and sweet necklace.
Our Fashionista was practical and chose to wear a cute hat and colorful mittens. A bunch of simple accessories and details can take a look to a brand new level. Investing in some basic and neutral accessories is important, and it’s even better if there are unique details in each piece. For example, when buying a hat, instead of going for the plain black one, take a fashion risk and buy the cute salt and pepper pom-pom knit. Colorful knits give a winter outfit more dimension.
The hat also brings attention to our Fashionista’s hair—a recent balayage and a few curls take it to whole new level of chic. The lace detailing on our Fashionista’s sweater adds an elegant touch to a cozy and casual vibe which brings the whole look together. It’s also important to notice that our Fashionista’s distressed jeans don’t actually have holes in them, which is perfect for this weather. It’s so important to remember that we need to stay warm and comfy in the winter!
Nothing about this outfit is boring—it’s exciting and fun, which is what some people need during finals. All in all, this Fashionista put together a chic, yet practical, outfit that anybody could look to for winter inspiration.
