If I could, I would wear head to toe black every day for the rest of my life. It’s classy, classic and never goes out of style. In my opinion, there are very few, if any, occasions where black is not appropriate.
The world, however, is not black and white, and spicing your look up with one of the bright colors of the rainbow is not such a bad thing. Of course, black is wonderful alone, but one of my favorite things about it is that it also goes with virtually any other color. This Fashionisto has mastered the art of color-blocking with black by choosing one accessory to serve as an attention getting addition to his look, a watch.
His dark jeans, shirt, jacket and shoes created an eye-catching contrast with his fiery red watch. While the watch would have been a conversation piece within any look, it was the first thing to catch my attention amongst its’ more subtle counterparts.
Had this Fashionisto been feeling more daring, he could have further developed his color-block with a bright red shoe or shirt. The beauty of color-blocking with black is that it allows for the opportunity to add as much or as much little color as you please.
How To: Invest in classic black pieces to use as the base of your outfit. You can completely change the feel of a classic black T-Shirt and black jeans by adding colorful accessories like watches, such as this Fashionisto did, to your shoes. Varying accessories is one of the most creative and least expensive ways to expand your wardrobe; compose a simple base and accessorize away.
