CollegeFashionista: What is your favorite part about working here?
Brooke Larsen: I think that the best part about it is that it’s so specialized. People come in here and there’s always something new and different. We only get about six pieces of each style or two of each size for a particular style which is nice because that allows us to have more of a selection and you’re not seeing someone walking down the street wearing what you’re wearing. Another great thing about Flirt is that we’re all trained stylists so we have styling appointments and people come in for our help to find an outfit for an occasion or to find a piece to add to their wardrobe. We’re trained to help them style whatever they need!
CF: What is the style that Flirt is going for?
BL: Since it is a college town, a lot of the styles are targeted towards college students between the ages of 20-30 so we like to have a little something for everyone. We carry so many different brands, each one is different. For example, BB Dekota is pretty edgy and then we have some Free People here and there and we also have Black Swan which is more of a bohemian vibe so it really just depends on the brand. There’s so many different kinds of body types here in Pullman so we like to accommodate people and their different styles.
CF: What are your go-to items when styling a customer?
BL: If someone is looking for a good denim, Joe’s are my first pick for sure. Also I like to pick out a few of our tops, we always have interesting tops that you won’t find anywhere else. A lot of the time too, I’ll pull dresses just because they’re fun and we have ones that you can dress up or dress down, wear with a cute jacket or whatever! We have so many options, sometimes it’s hard to choose my favorite!
CF: What influences your personal style?
BL: I would say beachy, bohemian would probably best describe my style. I’m inspired by a lot of LA brands like Coalition LA and Free People that we carry here in the store!
