There are many ways to describe myself. One word I would definitely use to encompass myself is adventurous! I love getting dolled up with my girlfriends and exploring all of the nooks and crannies of the quirky city of Louisville, Kentucky. However, there is one specific hidden gem I find myself returning to time and time again. This personal favorite of mine happens to be Urban Attic, a modern resale boutique whose motto is to renew and recycle trendy fashion pieces!

College Fashionista: What makes Urban Attic so unique?
Phoebe McDermott: To me, Urban Attic is so unique because of its diversity. There is a wide range of styles for every personality and age here. We have a wide array of people with different trends and personalities that walk through the door every day.
CF: What is the process when it comes to selecting merchandise for the boutique?
PM: We have walk-in days or personal appointments where people have the chance to come in and drop off any clothes or accessories they don’t want anymore. We then sort through the clothes and pick appropriate seasonal pieces to display and sell in the store. We have a wide variety of clothes because everyone who drops off their clothes has their own individual style. This gives our boutique that unique and wide variety to choose from.
CF: What is your favorite thing about working at Urban Attic?
PM: Personally, I love the people I work with. There is a small group of us so we all get along really well. Also, I love fashion and working at a consignment boutique is an exciting experience due to the large variety of retail we have at the store! I love seeing everyone’s individual styles when they walk through the door or when a customer pairs things I wouldn’t normally pair together. That’s what is so great about Urban Attic; you get to see so many different people and styles.
CF: How would you describe the overall style of clothing found in Urban Attic?
PM: It is such a wide variety, so it really just depends on what type of styles the people who bring in clothes have. For instance, we get people who bring in more fun and girly pieces one day and something completely different the next day. There is truly something for every person here and that’s what makes it so great.
