BEAUTY BAR: That '70s Show

There is a lot to admire about this Fashionista’s look. Whether it’s her ability to keep her make-up looking so clean that it complements a patterned crop top, or her high pony tail that makes her appear even taller; she is so ’70s. She literally looks like she just walked out of the most stylish ’70s TV series.

Since her crop top has a complex black and white pattern, she knows to keep her make-up nice and simple. Her entire outfit is made up of neutral tones, and a pop of red lipstick is all that she needs to add a sophisticated tone to the outfit. This Fashionista has a very fair skin tone, so a nice red lipstick really compliments her. If you are looking for an affordable, long lasting lipstick, I highly recommend NYX Cosmetic’s Simply Red Lip Cream. The large crayon shape of the lipstick gives you more control during your application, and the formula stays on all day. To go with her look, this Fashionista also added a pop of blush to her cheeks.

One of my favorite parts of her look is actually this Fashionista’s hair. I can never get my hair to stay in gorgeous curls like hers. Her secret? She braids her hair before she sleeps, and leaves them in until the morning! I love that she isn’t wearing her hair down, because if she did it would have added extra weight to her look. Since she is sporting a cute fur vest, her hair would have competed with it. A high pony tail also works to balance out her wide-leg pant, since it adds weight to the bottom half of her outfit. This helps make her appear slimmer and taller. Pulling your hair up and away from your face also gives you a very sophisticated and clean look. It’s also a great way to keep fresh throughout the day.

Don’t forget to take care of your hair to keep those curls looking luscious. I recently fell in love with Redken products. I apply a dab of a split end treatment every night after showering.

Dressing for the ’70s isn’t all about the outfit; your make-up to your hair goes a long way too.
