Spotted: rouge Disney princess at Howard University.
I am always ready for a Disney reference, whether it be online or on campus; imagine my reaction when I stumbled upon this magical Fashionista on a cloudy fall day. At first, I was drawn in by her stylish mix of feminine and masculine elements. How could I not be impressed by her casual mix of trendy booties, rugged boyfriend jeans, dainty body chain and floral off-the-shoulder blouse? Once I approached her, I was absolutely floored by her makeup skills. The lashes! The hair! The lipstick! She had seamlessly blended whimsical Disney features with practical makeup techniques that every college Fashionista could use.
This Ariel-esque Fashionista is currently living every Disney fanatic’s childhood dream by channeling the world’s fiercest mermaid. Her wavy russet-colored hair with a center part perfectly frames her face. The flawless coordinating makeup complements the bold hair color choice impeccably.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: This Fashionista was more than willing to break down her extensive and fabulous beauty routine. As a lady with oily skin, she swears by her favorites, pocket-friendly Milk of Magnesia and not-so-pocket-friendly Estee Lauder Double Wear, to create an immaculate matte foundation base. The Milk of Magnesia acts as an oil-controlling primer, while the Double Wear foundation erases pores and color corrects. Although her go-to set of lashes are the lauded Ardell Demi Wispies, today she happened to grab this dramatic pair from Sephora. The false eyelashes frame her almond-shaped eyes and further highlight her feminine style. Her daring yet refined rust eyeshadow was only swept on her crease, the perfect complement to her hair color. She finishes her look with a nude matte lipstick, called Taupe, from MAC. As for her hair, she owes the multifaceted color to her hairstylist back home in Philadelphia, but do not be discouraged, Fashionistas! Check out L’Oréal Paris for some DIY mermaid hair.
