With mid-terms, job-searches, extra-curriculars and maintaining a social life, how is a Fashionista supposed to carve out an extra hour of pampering daily? Beauty trends are ever-evolving, and priming and contouring the face can take ages. It is important to find one’s go-to items to get ready in a pinch without applying a zillion products to your face.
Whether it’s bringing out your inner Taylor or Marilyn, a red lip is the simple way to pull a classic look together with minimal other products. This fashionista bares a natural eye and skin look, keeping the concentration on her perfect red pout. She accentuates her effortless and polished style with soft, natural-looking curls. To top off the ensemble, she wears a chunky sweater, light-wash jeans, booties and an accent scarf. The perfect fall look.
This Fashionista/busy nursing student keeps it simple with seven go-to products that get her out the door in 20Â minutes flat: tinted moisturizer, bronzing powder, shimmer eye-shadow single, liquid eye-liner, mascara and an iconic red lipstick.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: After washing and moisturizing the face, start with a thin layer of your tinted moisturizer. Make sure to blend well, working the product from the center of the face out, using the hands. Apply another layer, if more coverage is desired, paying mind to areas of redness, such as the nose. Next, apply bronzing powder with a kabuki brush, just to the apples of the cheek, the neck and the forehead, where the sun would naturally kiss the skin (this is a natural and quick cheat to contouring). Taking your ring finger, apply a shimmering eye-shadow to the lid, starting at the lash-line and taking the color up to the crease. Using a liquid eye-liner, in soft strokes, draw a line from the inside of the lash line to the outside. Make sure to drag the line slightly out past the eye to create the illusion of a larger set of lashes. Top off the eye with several coats of mascara on the top and bottom lashes. Finish the look with a classic red lipstick, paying mind to shape the lips.
