California winters are in no way long or particularly cold, but spoiled sunbathers that we are, the instant the weather outside dips below 60 degrees we reach for chunky sweaters and vests, more than likely for the sake of fashion than actual warmth. One thing I miss amidst the San Francisco fog and muted color palettes of the Bay Area’s most fashionable is the pops of bright colors the sunshine brings out of everyone. This look was my saving grace amongst the varying shades of winter grays.
What instantly caught my eye about this Fashionista’s look is her awesome, flowing pink hair. I know a lot of us (myself included) tend to shy away from brighter colors for fear of having to bleach our locks first; this Fashionista shows us it can be done sans bleach and still be as vibrant as ever!
Moving on to the highlight of this beauty look—the eyes! Her soft, daytime smokey eye is the perfect amount of oomph to add to an otherwise casual outfit. The soft gray shadows and perfectly winged eyeliner allow her eyes to take center stage as the rest of the makeup look is kept to a minimum with a nude lip and subtle pink blush.
Despite the winter days ahead of us for the next few weeks, this Fashionista embraces the occasionally gloomy weather and lets it inspire her makeup look. The bright pink hair is a reminder to all of us to continue to embrace bold colors on even the bleakest of cold weather days. With this in mind, go forth and style your way out of the winter blues!
