I’m the type of girl who loves to have her hair long and flowing in the wind. In the summer, this is a little impractical. One, because my hair will try to revert back to its natural state. Two, because it is just too hot to have my hair on my neck. Many girls sport buns on their heads and, while I think my hair secretly hates buns, I can appreciate seeing a good one!
It’s funny how buns can go two ways. You either woke up late, threw on some clothes and plopped your hair into a messy bun for a super relaxed look (this look does well with texture). Or, you were going for a chic, classy look and took the time to smooth out your edges and raise your bun perfectly on top of your head. The classier bun goes well for class presentations, internships and jobs in a formal field. Either way you bun it, you will have a good hairstyle that can change up your everyday norm.
This Fashionista’s outfit screamed cute and professional. Her beautiful pink and purple patterned A-line dress was complemented with a fringe purse in order to give her some attitude and flair. The color of her purse matched her work ready flats. She had her natural, curly hair in a neat bun on top of her head; her edges were smoothed to perfection. She also had a flawless, fresh face.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? First, you want to grab a smoothing product, like a gel for thick hair or a cream for thin hair, and use a brush to work the product on to the outside of your hair. Then, you want to get a hair elastic, pull your hair on top of your head and wrap the elastic around your hair until it is secure. Go back and smooth out those edges with more product and the brush for an ultra-smooth and refined look.
