As the weather gets colder, it becomes a lot more difficult to express yourself through clothing. Most of us, at least here in Chicago, wear layer upon layer including sweaters, coats, scarves and hats. Because keeping warm is such a large priority, we must embrace different ways to show off our style. This Fashionista does this by wearing bold lipstick and nail polish.
I have always wanted to rock a dark lip but never had the courage to do so. Finding the perfect shade to compliment your features may take a few tries but is totally worth it. I would recommend spending some time experimenting with warmer and cooler colors to see which ones you like best and then go with your favorite!
For her nails, this Fashionista chose a dark pink with an understated shine that pairs with her lipstick beautifully. She also had them filed into an almond shape which has a rounder, more pointed tip. I’m the kind of girl who usually has on old chipped nail polish except for the pretty rare occasion when I decide to treat myself to a manicure. Because of this, I always have to give credit where it’s due to the girls who don’t shy away from the upkeep.
The rest of this look is fairly simple. This Fashionista is wearing black high-waisted jeans, a long-sleeved top and a thick boyfriend cardigan. These basic pieces allow the smaller accents to really shine through.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? Achieving this look is super easy! If you’re willing to splurge a little, head over to your nearest MAC store and look for the shade Diva. If not, this color is very similar. For your nails, try out a darker rose gold. This Fashionista is wearing Chicago Champagne Toast by OPI.
