Just like models walking the spring 2015 ready-to-wear runways for designers such as Chanel, Dior and Isabel Marant, this Fashionista embraces her natural hair texture. However, while most of these models sported their natural waves, this Fashionista boasts natural, gorgeous curls. I love that she wears her hair down so her curls frame her face. Her no-fuss look is pretty and perfect for almost any occasion.
And, this Fashionista manages to keep her curls looking glossy and frizz-free on a hot, humid day. As someone with rather straight, uneventful hair, I was impressed that this Fashionista’s curls were perfectly intact while my hair was already tangled and frizzy by noon. Although her hair looks effortlessly beautiful, I found out she does have a few tricks up her sleeve.
First of all, she told me she never brushes her hair. Never. When she’s putting shampoo in her hair in the shower she’ll finger-comb her hair, but that’s it. Another tip she shared with me is that she never blow dries her hair. Right after getting out of the shower, she’ll wrap her hair in a towel for a few minutes. While her hair is still wet, she’ll then put in her favorite products.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? Since her aunt owns a salon, this lucky Fashionista gets to try out her aunt’s best hair products. After getting out of the shower and wrapping her wet hair in a towel for a few minutes, she applies either “DevaCurl Arc AnGEL” defining gel and John Frieda Frizz-Ease styling gel to her damp hair to keep her curls looking fabulous all day. Another John Frida Frizz-Ease product she loves is the “Dream Curls” spray. Finally, if her hair is flat, she’ll spritz some “It’s Not Your Mother’s” sea salt spray on her curls to give them some texture.
