The end of the spring semester is near, but only one thing stands in the way of being able to rip up our notes and throw them in the air like confetti: finals week. It’s the week when everyone can look like death and be totally okay with it. No judgement here. That’s why when I saw this Fashionista actually put forth real effort in looking nice for finals week—after getting over the shock—I snapped a few pictures.
It was hard to decide what the best part of this look was. It could’ve been the chic simplicity of a blue button-up top tucked in a classic skater skirt with a pair of booties. It could’ve also been the straw hat, a staple item for the summer, accessorized with a watch that has an awesome design of a map. All of those things made her stand out, but what really struck me as the best part of this entire look was her makeup.
Her skin glowed as bright as her eyes and her lips popped as red as crimson (which is understandably the name of the lipstick color).
“I usually just start off with my primers and concealers,” she said. “Then I move on into highlighting around my eyes and adding eyeliner, concealer and foundation. After that, I put on a little but of blush, contour my face, add some lipstick and mascara and top things off with setting spray.”
This is the perfect makeup routine to have for the season. Something light and natural creates an airy, fresh face that says “Hello, summer!”
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: You can recreate this look by following this Fashionista’s makeup routine. Start off by applying Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion and create a smooth canvas for your foundation with the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. Then, with the Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette, use ‘Foxy’ to highlight, ‘Suspect’ over the eyelid and ‘Busted’ on the outer corner of your eye. Add the eyeliner, concealer and foundation that works best for you, then contour. This Fashionista used Makeup Revolution’s Ultra Contour Palette. Make those lips pop using Clinique’s Matte ‘Crimson’ Lipstick and give those eyelashes some life with Maybelline’s Full ‘N Soft mascara. Finally, add some Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray and give yourself a wink in the mirror!
