“Don’t look at yourself through their eyes” is a quote I have followed since I started developing my own sense of style, and I will embrace these qualities as I continue to grow. As we go through phases of our lives, new styles and ideas are introduced to us. I will never be able to truly say that I have myself all figured out. I am easily influenced by growing trends and am always interested in trying something new, no matter what other people think of me.
This Fashionista is similar to me in a way that she spends her spare time perusing through clothing websites and blogs looking for new trends to bring into her daily dress. She takes risks with not only her clothes, but her makeup as well. Because as long as she likes the way she looks, nothing else matters.
Not only was this Fashionista’s outfit spot on, but so were the beauty accessories she added to it. Her outfit was intriguing, yet simple enough to make sure her beauty look was the star of her ensemble. Her glitter roots are what caught my eye immediately. She told me all she did was combine glitter with some styling cream and lightly combed it into her hair with a coloring brush. Next, she sprinkled some larger glitter sequins into her hair to give it more of a dramatic look. For her makeup she used a metallic highlighting stick and different shades of pink and silver eyeshadow which matched the undertones in the glitter sequins she used. Lastly, she touched off the look with a bright pink lipstick.
This Fashionista is a full-time business major at OSU, so opportunities to put on a style like this does not come often. I’m so thankful that I was able to capture her in this look because it truly embraces all of my beliefs that if you have the confidence to work it, own it!
