When it is the winter, we wish for the heat. Well, now that it is summer, I am wishing for the cold again. The first time I take a trip to New York would be during a heat wave. Here I am sweating and holding onto my water like it is attached to my hand as I shop through SoHo and attempt to dodge the tourists in Times Square, which I am failing at miserably. The reason I add this little anecdote is because Fashionistas/os all over know what it is like to spend hours on hair and makeup just to have it ruined by the scorching summer heat as they sweat it all out on their way to class through an abandoned campus or to an internship through heavily crowded streets. This Fashionista is familiar with the struggle and has found an easy way to stay cute by simplifying her hair and makeup.
This Fashionista has made her hair short and added some loose curls to give an effortless look that can actually withstand the above average temperatures of summer. She kept her makeup as natural as possible, relying on the subtleness of her lipstick to add a pop of color to her face. This combination of loose curls and natural makeup complements her bohemian look that is created by her hippie-inspired flower covered romper and lace and fringe sleeveless kimono. This flower child’s look can easily hold its own this summer as temperatures continue to increase, even in New York.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? A curling wand is a must for creating those loose, free-flowing curls, which can be produced by rolling more hair. Choose a setting spray to keep your natural makeup intact as well as a bright lipstick to add a little color to your face.
