BEAUTY BAR: I'm Knot the Only Bun

Graduation season is coming to a close, and my Instagram feed is filled with pictures of smiling graduates dressed in caps in gowns and surrounded by their best friends. One thing I tend to home in on is each person’s style. I love seeing how one expresses their personality through clothes. I also admire each person’s hairstyle! Hair is not my forte, especially since I have to have my mom or friends French braid my own hair (I’m still learning to be an adult). I really admire girls who are talented in the hair department. I appreciate an intricate up-do or perfect curls that hold up for hours on end.

One effortlessly glamorous yet hard to pull off style is the high bun. This Fashionista knew how to rock the look and complement her graduation-ready ensemble. The topknot works so well with this look because it highlights her collarbones and shows off the elegant cutout in the back of her blouse. It is a tasteful way to show some skin. It also gives her a streamlined look, adding whatever inches she felt the heels did not give her. Her simple earrings enhanced her outfit of a floral blouse and skinny jeans. Add in her fab tote, and she looks like any outgoing Fashionista who knows she looks good and is ready to cheer on her friends at their graduation!

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To imitate this look, tease your hair prior to putting it up. Adding products like hairspray can also be useful. Use two rubber bands; one for a ponytail, and one for the bun. Pull a few pieces out to make it a bit sloppy and you are good to go!
