Spending half an hour on makeup should never be a part of your summer makeup routine. It takes away time from celebrating being out of school, hanging out with friends and being outside. It’s hotter than Hades this time of year anyways, and everyone’s makeup will unfortunately slide off within the first two minutes of stepping out of the front door! I’ve always found it difficult to wear makeup trends that will last all day during this time of the year, unlike this Fashionista.
Choosing a trend that makes a statement while still remaining on your face throughout the heat can be a tricky task. Luckily the summer is all about keeping your makeup looking mostly natural. However, if you want to be bold, it doesn’t take a lot to do so! This Fashionista decided to go for the simple bold lip look—a personal favorite of mine. She matched her lips with her magenta hair and the flowers on her shirt. Her overall color scheme was more on the dark side, but she still looked season-appropriate because of the floral design in her shirt and her simple makeup. You can still be true to your unique style while following this season’s trends.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To achieve this look, you need a lightweight foundation, long-lasting, bold lipstick and lengthening mascara. First apply a light coat of foundation on your face in order to maintain the natural look. Then apply a few coats of mascara on both the top and bottom lashes. If you still feel like you need to add a little pop to your eyes, fill in your eyebrows with a pencil. Finally, put on your lipstick. To make it last even longer and look bolder, apply a bit of concealer on your lips before applying.
