After chopping my hair off a few years ago, it’s hard to imagine having hair longer than my shoulders. Once the mid-summer humidity hits here in Indianapolis, I typically find myself beyond grateful to not have to worry about heating up under a thick head of hair. On the contrary, this Fashionista is finding new and improved ways to continue growing her hair and keeping it healthy. Though her hair is something that would catch one’s eye in and of itself, this Fashionista’s edgy and minimalistic makeup gives her a unique and refreshing look.
If you live in a city such as Indianapolis that is accompanied by ridiculous humidity, it is best to avoid wearing as much makeup as possible, so you don’t irritate or break out your skin. Embrace the months of the year that give you access to that ever so popular “sun-kissed” summertime look and rock your most natural you!
While sipping on my morning coffee, I spotted this Fashionista looking straight out of a Free People meets Urban Outfitters magazine. Throughout the past few years, we have seen many hair trends ranging from very short hair to long and wavy “just left the beach” hair. This Fashionista was also rocking a high ponytail, which added an array of style and minimalism to her look. With her makeup neutral and toned down she looks fresh, vitalized and ready for summer.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To complete this look, you need a lip color, gloss and a non-waterproof mascara. Make sure to add a hint of blush on the upper cheeks to give more definition and structure to the face. Skip the bronzer and go to and lay by the pool instead!
