A nude, subdued and renewed natural look is all of the rage of late. Valentino, Ralph & Russo, Giambattista Valli and Elie Saab all prominently featured natural, fresh and subdued beauty looks at their recent haute couture fashion shows. This Fashionista followed suit with her nude fresh-faced makeup and natural hair. This beauty look does truly appear natural and effortless; however, this look does indeed require a bit of prep and application of various beauty products. But fear not! By the end of this article, I’m confident that you too will be able to rock this look with ease.
Before this Fashionista applied any makeup, she prepped her face with Neutrogena’s hydro boost water based gel. Essentially, this gel hydrates your skin while simultaneously priming it for your foundation, concealer and/or BB cream. After applying the hydro boost, she used MAC’s mineralize foundation (NC42). Unlike other MAC foundations, the mineralize foundation is known for its light and natural finish.
Brows are an aspect that can significantly set the tone of your look. This Fashionista has embraced the feathered brow. This means your brows look evenly arched and the hair follicles are spread out to create a feathered look. This creates an almost untouched look to your brows giving them a natural effect. By abandoning heavy dark tinted eyebrow gels, powders, pencils and/or creams, your brows won’t be weighed down and won’t appear to be overdone. Our Fashionista used Dior’s Diorshow brow styler which matches your natural brow color. She then used Anastasia’s Beverly Hills clear brow gel. A clear brow gel aides you in creating the feathered look without adding a dark or heavy look to your brow.
Eyes are equally important when creating a natural look and often times this is where people go wrong when attempting to create it. This Fashionista used eye shadow colors that not only compliment her eye color, but also her complexion. She has achieved this natural nude look by using Too Faced’s anti-crease shadow insurance primer, the nude and honey butter shadows in Too Faced’s natural eye palette and the browns in MAC’s burgundy times nine palette. She has also applied a touch of L’Oreal Paris’ voluminous original mascara in blackest black to define her eyes. This Fashionista has demonstrated that it is possible to apply mascara when creating a natural look and have it still appear subdued.
Lastly, this Fashionista has kept her lips extremely simple by using MAC’s freckletone lipstick that is opaque pink in appearance. In line with simplicity, she has kept her natural locks and has secured them with a low loose bun. This refreshingly deconstructed hair perfectly accompanies this subdued beauty look.
Additionally, this beauty guru sealed her look with Mario Badescu’s facial rosewater spray. This gave her a dewy and renewed look.
What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To recreate this Fashionista’s natural, no makeup look you will need: a brow pencil, clear brow gel, light mineral foundation or BB cream, a lightweight concealer, highlighter, a natural eyes palette, mascara and natural lip-gloss/stick.
