A good smoky eye and cat eye are iconic beauty staples; they are timeless and obviously aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. But for those of us who like to go outside of the box, or are looking to shake things up a bit, a sunset eye is the way to go. A sunset eye/smoky sunset is fun new play on a smoky eye that pairs well with a cat eye, but can most definitely hold it’s own (with a bit of mascara, of course).
The use of orange eye shadows to blend has been very in lately but this look takes it to a whole new level. When creating a smoky sunset eye, it’s almost impossible to go wrong. Simply blend an orange shadow into the crease of the lid, build up another sunset shade (ex: purples, reds, pinks) into the outer third of the lid, add some sparkle, and viola! This look is just as simple, if not more simple than a smoky eye, but since it has such bold colors it appears a lot more difficult than it really is. This look is a great way to spice up any outfit that is lacking in color, and as a bonus you don’t have to worry about finding a colorful accessory that work with the outfit because the eye shadow is all the color you need!
For the rest of the face and outfit, keep it simple with the color scheme. A nude lip and neutral clothing really helps highlight the sunset eye. But just because the color scheme is simple doesn’t mean that the outfit should be a plain Jane! This outfit is spiced up with a fur vest and fun details, such as a pearl choker and a crisscross top detail.
