BEAUTY BAR: Who Says You Can't Be Glam and Comfy?

Well Fashionistas/os, I have a confession…I am obsessed with watching makeup tutorials. I always have been, even when I wasn’t old enough to really be wearing that much makeup. It does not matter the social situation, I will always stop and take the time to watch someone do their makeup in front of a camera. I have even used these videos to learn to do my own makeup. It took a lot of trial and error—and by error I mean wearing bright blues, pinks and yellows on my eyelid, or not blending in my makeup enough. I’m glad that stage is over!

For her makeup, this Fashionista chooses the best products there are. She starts off by priming her face using the Maybelline master primer, then applies her NYX dark circle concealer. As for foundation, she uses her Naked liquid foundation. Her bomb eye shadow is achieved by using Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette and Urban Decay’s Naked palette. She applies “raw sienna” and uses the shade “naked” from her urban decay palette to cut her crease, then puts warm taupe on her lid and blends in antique bronze on her outer corner. She completes her eye shadow with a little bit of the shade tempera on her inner corner and lower lash line to brighten up her eyes. She confessed to me that she swears by her Rimmel lash accelerator mascara. And that is how she finishes her eye look. For her fierce eyebrows, she uses the Anastasia dip brow in chocolate. And for the final touch, this Fashionista uses MAC’s lipstick in velvet teddy. Her neutral lips do well in complimenting the tones of her eye shadow.

For many, the weather changing means knit sweaters, boots, velvet clothing and darker makeup. This Fashionista gives us a perfect example of a neutral makeup look can be used in any season and will look fab with whatever outfit you pair it with. She followed the theme of her makeup and went with neutral colors for this outfit. Her beige neutral top matches perfectly with her handbag. Her big knit sweater keeps her warm for the cold weather ahead and she completes her look by paring it with black suede over-the-knee boots, which blend well into her black leggings. This Fashionista knows how to be glam yet comfortable.

When I asked what inspired her look, this Fashionista told me she too loves watching makeup tutorials! It’s not just me, people!
