A Beginner's Guide to Natural Summer Glow Makeup

Summertime is perfect for experimenting with new makeup looks. But with so many products and tutorials, where do you start? Here’s a beginner’s guide to a gorgeous, natural, and lightweight summer glow look.

—Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. Apply a pea-sized amount where you want to blur lines and minimize pores.

—Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream. Using a CC cream instead of a foundation will not provide full coverage, but it will feel lighter on your skin. This product even has SPF 30 for sun protection.

—Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer. This concealer is heavy and pigmented. To prevent it from feeling too cakey, apply a single dot under each corner of your eye and blend into upside-down triangles.

—L’oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder. Apply all over your face, especially under the eyes, to set the base.

—Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Apply all over your lids to prevent your eyeshadow from creasing or smudging.

—Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz & Brow Powder Duo. Outline your eyebrows with a brow pencil. Fill them in using a powder. It provides a natural finish and blends easily, making it more mistake-friendly.

—Tarte Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay Palette. Apply Vintage all over the lid. Use Drama in the outer corner. Apply Mod to the rest of the lid and blend. Lightly blend Ethereal into the center of the lid. Use a tiny amount of Glam in the inner corners. Blend all the shades to perfection.

—Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. Apply liquid eyeliner in your desired shape and style.

—Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil. For a more natural look, only tight-line the middle of your bottom waterline where your irises are.

—Sephora Collection LashCraft Length & Volume Mascara. Try applying mascara after applying the rest of your face, because the fallout from the powders can get stuck to the mascara.

—Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. Suck in your cheeks, and follow the lines for an easy contour. Apply bronzer to the temples of your forehead and along your jawline.

—Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush. Dust blush above the bronzer. Start from the apples of your cheeks and sweep away from your face.

—Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up! Highlighter. Apply the stick highlighter to the highest points of your cheekbones and nose, then blend.

—L’oreal True Match Powder Glow Illuminator. Dust powder highlighter on top of the cream one for a more intense glow.

—Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Lip Scrub. Using a lip scrub before applying any lipstick removes dry skin and provides a more even application.

—Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick, Coral Blossom. This lipstick is super moisturizing with a glossy finish. A lovely coral shade complements any warm summer day.

—Sephora Collection Beauty Amplifier Set and Refresh Spray. Use a setting spray all over your face and throughout the day to ensure your makeup remains intact.
