CLASS OF 2015: Jacqueline

I’m not quite sure I could put into words all of the emotions that I have been feeling the last few weeks as my undergraduate career has come to an end. I can vividly remember calling my mother freshman year, sobbing, lost on campus for the umpteenth time. Looking back on my 18-year-old self, I never would have thought I would find my way at Michigan State. Four years later, the thought of leaving is incredibly bittersweet. I am infinitely grateful for all of the unforgettable experiences I have had and the wonderful people I have met here.

Writing for CollegeFashionista was definitely one of my favorite college experiences. This internship really allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone, whether it was through stopping people on the street, sharing my writing with hundreds of readers or stepping out from behind the lens to be photographed myself. One benefit that I fully did not anticipate from this internship was a boost in self-confidence. I highly encourage any of you reading to find the experiences that push you out of your comfort zone and take advantage of those opportunities to grow as a person.

Though I am fighting a horrible case of nostalgia, I’m also very excited for what lies ahead. I will commence again from MSU in six months with my Master’s in Marketing Research, and from there I hope to merge my passions for consumer research and the magazine industry in an exciting career. I’m aiming for New York City, so keep your eyes peeled for my name in a masthead!
