My decision to go to Temple was a tough one. I remember feeling so nervous to move to a school in North Philly with three times as many students as the entire population of my rural hometown. After some serious culture shock, many lessons learned and hundreds of great memories, here I am four years later and so happy that I never questioned that decision. Of course, I can never talk about my college experience without gushing about my time with CollegeFashionista.
After applying to be a Style Guru on a total whim after a friend told me about the site, I fell in love with documenting street style fashion and all things CollegeFashionista. The site became my escape from schoolwork, and Amy’s mentorship further motivated me to pursue my dreams of working in the fashion industry. I am so thankful for the opportunities CollegeFashionista has given me, from meeting some of the industry’s biggest players, to co-hosting a video series for Teen Vogue, to working with brands like Victoria Secret PINK, Hunter Boots and American Eagle Outfitters on editorial partnerships.
Oh, and speaking of American Eagle Outfitters, my connection with CollegeFashionista helped me land my first full-time job with the company. At the end of May, I will be moving to New York City to start my next chapter as a Public Relations Assistant on the super talented AEO PR team. To say I’m stoked about what’s to come is a bit of an understatement.
A huge thank you goes out to the CollegeFashionista community for allowing me to grow as a writer, person and of course, as a Fashionista over the last seven semesters. Stay #rad.
