These Day-to-Night Makeup Looks Are a Busy Student's Dream

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m obsessed with beauty products; I could spend hours raving about Glossier and vitamin-C serum. But I also like to be efficient, so the thought of taking off a whole face of makeup only to reapply it is an insane concept to me. College students are busy. Between school and work, who has the time to redo their makeup? Not me! That’s why I use a few simple strategies in order to create a long-lasting look that easily transitions from day to night. Want to know how to do the same? Keep reading for my tips on how to create the perfect day-to-night makeup look.

Keep It Classic With A Cat-Eye

Why mess with something tried and true? You can never go wrong with winged liner, like the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($20) Jordyn used for this look. By keeping everything else minimal, you can wear this almost anywhere without seeming overdone.

Stay Subtle With A Lightened-Up Smokey Eye

I love a good smokey eye, but unless you’re Kim K circa 2010, you might not be into wearing one to the grocery store (although you do you if that’s your preference!). If you’d rather take an approach that’s less of a statement, try a more subtle version for the perfect day-to-night makeup. Gisele says she used a Too Faced palette like the Born This Way Natural Nudes Eye Shadow Palette ($49) to create this cool-brown smokey eye.

Exude That ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi' With French-Inspired Minimalism

The French somehow always manage to look effortlessly cool and gorgeous with minimal makeup. Follow Laura’s lead and try Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint ($26), Glossier Stretch Concealer ($18), Glossier Cloud Paint cream blush ($18) and Glossier Generation G lip color ($18) to enhance your natural beauty but still create enough of a look for night.

Make Your Pucker Pop With A Bright Lip Shade

Let your lips speak for themselves by using a bold lipstick. With a bright pop of color, such as the Wet ‘N’ Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick in the shade Missy and Fierce ($3), you’ll stand out just as much in a dimly-lit restaurant as you will in the golden sunlight.

Capture Everyone's Gaze With A Shimmery Eye

Bold lips not your thing? Focus the attention on your eyes instead with some shimmery shadow. Brittney used the Maybelline The City Mini Palette in Urban Jungle ($10) to create an eye-catching look that’s still subtle enough for your daytime activities.

Create Bold Brows for Simple Day-to-Night Makeup

Go Bold With Your Brows

Thick eyebrows don’t seem to be going away anytime soon, and, lucky for us, bold brows look just as good in the club as they do in the classroom. Anna turned to the brow master, a.k.a. Anastasia Beverly Hills, for her look. She used ABH’s bestseller, the Dipbrow ($18), to give her eyebrows extra color and thickness.

Stay True To You With A Less-Is-More Approach

Some people love to wear a full face of makeup, but others prefer to keep it simple. If you fall into the latter category, don’t feel pressured to put on more makeup than you’re comfortable with just because you’re “going out.” Brisa used just two products in this look: the Sephora Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in Always Red ($14) and the Mehron Eye and Cheek 8-Color Powder Palette ($40). Pick a couple of your favorite products and stick to those because no matter where you are, confidence is your always best asset.
