ALL IN THE DETAILS: Millennial Pink

What’s up, Fashionistas? As the semester has come to an end at CofC, students traded in their textbooks for beach towels and have joyfully turned off their early morning alarm clocks. As one thing comes to an end, the door is open for something new and that is summer fashion! Summer fashion has always been my favorite sartorial season, people dress in bright colors and prints and have the essence of a carefree vibe.

This summer is going to be all about millennial pink and patterns. Millennial pink has been the “it” color to rock for a while and designers, fashion bloggers, and street style stars have been frothing at the mouth over this once “girly” color. Millennial pink is now chic, edgy, and as The Cut magazine would describe as “androgynous.” Millennials tend to rework different trends and defy sartorial rules.

This Fashionisto took his own personal take on the millennial pink trend and made his look normcore meets Japanese punk. His classic pinstriped pink button down plays a soft contrast against the harsher black colors in his outfit. If you look closely at his outfit, you can see his keen eye for detail; the color from the socks, the soft stripes on his button down, and the surgical mask are all consistent in color palette.

To contrast the soft pink, this Fashionisto added quirky, edgy accessories like his Darth Vader earrings and a printed surgical mask, which are popular in Japan at the moment.  And because it is summer fashion, he made his look more laid-back by cuffing the end of his black pants. Life hack: Cuffing the end of your pants is the quickest way to change up your entire look.

This Fashionisto without a doubt, proved that millennial Pink is not the traditional “girly” color, but a bad a** color to wear. Let this Fashionisto’s look inspire your next summer outfit!
