As summer slowly approaches, I thought I’d give you some easy ways to transition a casual day outfit for summer evenings.
Throughout the summer, many of us tend to be on the go with busy vacationing schedules. That being said, we probably do not have a lot of time to change our outfits between events.
Let’s say one summer day you spend your day with your friends, mini-golfing, walking along the beach, and eating ice cream. That same evening, you have a date. Whether your date will be at the movies or a restaurant, odds are you want to look put together without being too dressy. Here are a couple ways you can dress up your casual summer day outfit to transition it into an evening outfit.
Outfit #1
As you can see, this Fashionista has a simple and unique style. Her cropped sleeveless top from Aéropostale is a great neutral to add to her patterned flared bottoms from Kohl’s. She paired the outfit with some rose gold flat sandals from Bob’s and a statement necklace from Express.
When you don’t have much time to change your whole outfit, it’s easier to just change pieces of it. Transitioning this casual summer day outfit is fairly simple. All you have to do is swap the top for a more dressy one, put on some wedges or heels, and add a simple pendant necklace and bracelet!
Here this Fashionista swapped her statement necklace for a gold heart pendant necklace, and paired her outfit with some black wedges from Kohl’s.
If you’re one of those people who get chilly quickly, be sure to bring a neutral colored cardigan! It will go with any outfit, and keep you from getting those goosebumps!
Now you’re ready to go with an effortless look to show off during your evening activities!
Outfit #2
Here is another outfit you can quickly dress up if you don’t have enough time to look through your closet for a completely different outfit:
This Fashionista is wearing a casual abstract print summer dress with button details from Express. She paired the dress with some neutral braided flat sandals from Kohl’s and a small butterfly pendant necklace.
To dress this outfit up, this Fashionista switched her flats to some white heels from Payless, as well as her necklace. In addition to these simple changes, I had her add a white knitted shawl from Kohl’s.
This outfit is perfect for a summer evening! You can never go wrong with white in the summertime. And don’t forget: it’s okay to match your outerwear with your shoes!
