Just when we thought we got all the fashion inspiration needed from 2021 in And Just Like That…, Sex and the City’s Patricia Field has blessed us with her talented stylist skills in Emily in Paris season two. In the new 10-episode series, you can expect the return of Emily (Lily Collins) strutting around the city, falling in love and perhaps starting some drama (in her classic Emily in Paris outfits, of course).
Emily in Paris season two will air on Wednesday, December 22 on Netflix…and Gen Z fashion-lovers are about to book their trips to Paris soon after. We watched as her “American” look, as pinned by her new friend Mindy Chen (Ashley Park), transform into a sophisticated European fashion in season one. I know I’m excited to see how Field will style Emily’s new take on clothes after spending some time in this iconic fashion capital.
While she adapted her wardrobe to the new city after learning from her friends (and enemies) around her, she never lost her independent style. You can hate on Emily, but you can’t deny she is unapologetically herself. Maybe we can all learn something from this new season.
Recreating her outfits can be tricky for those who simply can’t buy a new Chanel bag every week…but a girl can dream. While Emily carries plenty of luxury pieces, her closet varies and can be adapted at a more affordable price. Keep reading for eight Emily in Paris outfits you can recreate budget before binging the newest season.
01. The Audrey Hepburn Dress at the Ballet
There’s something about the way Emily stands on the steps, in an all-black off-the-shoulder a-line gown that says she has made it in Paris…while some Parisian critics may disagree. In my opinion, the bejeweled bag with the accompanying hairpiece and heel details screams luxury, elegance, and confidence.
Lulu's Shining Time Black Floral Jacquard Off-the-Shoulder Maxi Dress
This dress ($78) will give you the same black-sheer look and neckline without the dramatic skirt. You can opt for this more casual look or add some heels to achieve the level of elegance Emily does at the ballet.
ASOS DESIGN Hair Crown With Floral Details
This classy, sparkling updo highlights Emily’s magic moment when she ditches the guy and takes on Paris on her own. Let’s get inspired by her confidence and incorporate jewelry in our hair in this unconventional way with a hair crown, like this one ($15), from ASOS.
02. The Fuchsia-Everything Vibe
Emily brought the monochrome trend to the next level with this head-to-toe fuschia look in season one. Who would have thought to pair a fuzzy checkered sweater and denim mini skirt with matching satin heels and knee-high socks? Plus, I think everyone needs a bright pink trench coat in their closet.
Zara Jewel Button Textured Coat
This lapel collar coat ($129) is the perfect piece when you want to add a pop of color into your wardrobe. The jewel buttons elevate the textured jacket and add a touch of luxury that will keep you both warm and confident.
Zara Fuchsia Turtleneck Sweater
Layer on this loud sweater with a rib high collar and long sleeves ($36) to complete this bold monochromatic look. This style will keep you cozy without sacrificing style.
03. The Sassy Multi Color Trench Coat
This color block coat gives the illusion of luxury without the price tag. The original piece Lily Collins wears is the River Island Collarless Coat from ASOS, but is now sold out. But, no need to worry! I found the perfect alternative that I personally love even more.
Nasty Gal Color Block Wool Look Coat
Play with the different colors in this wool-look jacket ($57). With a relaxed silhouette and a mix of neutral tones and teal, you will satisfy the color block appeal of Emily’s unique coat.
Lucky Brand Two Tone Cuff
Add some statement jewelry on top of your color block coat and a subtle bag in Parisian style. This handcrafted gold and silver metal bracelet is exactly what you need.
04. The Break-Up Outfit
Emily’s confidence shines through this ensemble as she screams at her boyfriend over the phone in the middle of the busy city. A white textured crop top with coordinating belt and straight leg jeans looks effortless. To be critical for a second, is this outfit giving you a 2010s’ aesthetic like it is for me? This would be a great Emily in Paris outfit to create if you add a Gen Z twist.
Free People Serenity Corset Cami
This flattering corset top ($48) is a great alternative for Emily’s white textured tank. The romantic cut and trendy style is this year’s version of her character’s “confidence top.”
Levi's 501 Original Fit Jeans
Word on the street is that these are the best fitting jeans in the world ($90). Yes, they might be a bit of an investment…but you deserve a good pair of jeans that will last. Trust me, these will change your wardrobe.
05. The Colorful Countryside Sweater
This is a statement sweater I need in my closet. The vibrant colors can be paired with some simple jeans and sneakers for a relaxed look or with leather bottoms and heeled boots for a night out. We love you for this moment, Emily.
Princess Polly Jemma Sweater Multi
This oversized chunky knit ($60) will give you a similar look and feel, with its relaxed fit, vibrant colors, and cozy feeling. You’ll find yourself pulling this out of your closet over and over.
Madewell Chunky Medium Hoop Earrings
These earrings ($24) are a best seller from Madewell, and I can see why. The light, hollow hoops will help you recreate this countryside outfit and can elevate any other look.
06. The Feminine Floral Approach
If we have learned anything from Emily in Paris season one, it is that Emily is not afraid of color. While many Parisians opt for neutrals and monochromatic looks, this American in Paris likes to stand out from a crowd. In this scene, she walks in pink, heeled booties with a matching crossbody bag over her floral textured coat.
ASOS DESIGN Floral Puffer Jacket
Put a Gen Z twist on Emily’s textured peacoat and opt for this puffer ($79) from ASOS. The light pastels will give you that feminine effect while actually keeping you warm during the cold seasons. (P.S. This jacket even has detachable sleeves.)
Ted Baker London Stina Embossed Faux Leather Crossbody Bag
Embrace Emily’s European style by shopping at a European brand. This bag ($130 $60) is stunning and sophisticated, in a playful pink color. Yes, Ted Baker is a luxury brand but I have good news; this bag is half the price at Nordstrom Rack!
07. The Classic Kelly Green Coat Moment
This may be the most loved and most hated Emily and Paris outfit…personally, it’s my favorite. The color of the coat brings out the details of the coordinating plaid bucket hat and floral neck scarf. The key is to wear it confidently, with a smile and a dark lip.
MANGO Oversized Wool Coat
This oversized fit will give you Emily in Paris with a Hailey Bieber twist. Is green not your color? This jacket ($150) comes in sky blue and light pink as well.
ASOS Vero Moda Bucket Hat
The plaid pattern of this bucket hat ($25) will pair uniquely with the wool coat, and will add that European flare you have been looking for. Embrace the ‘90s style of this print and bring out your inner Emily.
08. The Yellow Sundress in the Park
This look has almost single-handedly convinced me to book a trip to Paris this summer. I can feel the sundress flowing behind me as I romanticize the city and soak up the sun. This style is easily adaptable, as all you need is a maxi dress and a belt.
Free People Nouveau Maxi Dress
This floral maxi dress ($138 $70) has the same dreamy feel of Emily’s yellow Ganni dress, with a romantic crisscross back detailing and low scoop neck. It is perfect for wandering around the city during the warmer seasons.
H&M Faux Leather Belt
Cinch your waist in true Emily in Paris fashion with this accessory from H&M ($13) to add some spice to your dress.
