Long before Beyoncé made it clear who runs the world, women were treated as second class citizens. It is crazzzyyy to think that less than 100 years ago, women weren’t allowed to vote. Now, we have a very real chance of seeing a female become President. Regardless of your political stance, that’s pretty cool.
Today is Women’s Equality Day—the annual celebration of women’s rights in the US. Not only does this commemorate the 1920 certification of women’s right to vote, but it calls to attention female’s continued effort towards equality.
Now more than ever, girl power is very real. We see it everyday—from the empowering female business leaders to record-breaking female athletes to the personal sources of inspiration we find in our own moms, sisters and friends. We here at CollegeFashionista are constantly obsessing over the incredible females that make up our #GuruGang.
So in honor of Women’s Equality Day, take time to celebrate the incredible ladies in your life—especially yourself. You go, girl!
