Hats—we know this styling trick all too well. From bad hair days to those times you can’t remember when you last shampooed to those mornings when you snoozed your alarm three (okay, four) times, a cap can be a literal fashion lifesaver. But if summer ’16 saw cute embroidered baseball hats come back into style and fall witnessed those charming wide-brimmed hats, this winter will be all about one headwear accessory that’s just too cozy to pass up: the beanie.
What has long been a staple of degenerate youth culture worn by those kids who literally “couldn’t care less” (you know the type), Fashionistas everywhere are taking back the beanie as stylish alternative to a frost-bitten head. I’m loving beanies worn with sporty-chic looks, such as joggers and bomber jackets. But, as our endlessly inspiring Style Gurus show us, you can just as easily throw on your beanie with a ladylike overcoat, edgy moto jacket or cozy cardigan.
There are seriously so many styles to choose from, too. Opt for the chunky knit beanie in a lighter shade to cancel out the grung-y vibe; go for a beanie with a *faux fur* pom-pom for a whimsical winter look; or rock a classic fold-up beanie with a label that shows your loyalty to a certain brand (or one that just shows your adoration for emojis).
With so many cute styles to choose from, keep your head warm this winter, but stay oh-so-cool.
