Tailgate and game day season is upon us, and it is time to think about what we should wear for the occasion. College football is a huge part of our experience and memories in college, so it’s important that you cheer your team on in style.
Fall in some college towns might be more on the cold side, but living in Florida, it’s just as hot as summer during football season. The heat of the fall weather makes it even more important to be comfortable in your outfit. Knowing your college town and the weather patterns in the area is crucial in the preparing for your outfit and the day in general.
When dressing for a game day, obviously you have to represent your team. Finding a cute outfit for a football team is hard to do, which is why we can always resort to the basic T-shirt, but don’t wear it as you bought it! Grab your scissors and get to decorating.
Cutting and styling a plain T-shirt for your team is the best way to go for a tailgate. It gives a regular, plain shirt your own personal style and allows you to make any shirt bearable for the heat or any weather you need to expect. This Fashionista took a regular Gator shirt paired with jean shorts and made it into a halter with a braided back.
Another game day staple is, of course, your sunglasses. Tailgates and game days are in the middle of the day with the sun directly in our faces. Instead of squinting all day, add an extra accessory to your outfit and put on a pair of sunglasses!
There are so many ways to style your game day outfit. How do you wear your game day attire? Show us on social media! Don’t forget to tag @CFashionista.
