Everyone loves to look good, but everyone also loves to be comfortable. That is my motto for going back to school this year. I want to look put together for my classes; however, there is nothing worse than being uncomfortable in class. Clothes are part of the decision of what to wear to class, but you can’t forget about your hair and makeup routine!
The first part of my morning routine, after taking a shower, is doing my makeup. I’m not the biggest makeup person in the sense that I don’t like to spend too much time doing it. For that reason, my routine is not excessive and only consists of things that I think I need. The first step is a very light foundation powder that gives a little bit of glow to brighten your face. The next step is to apply a light layer of eyeshadow to make your eyes pop just enough to show that you are awake. You can then use mascara and eyeliner very delicately to again, make those eyes pop a bit. Depending on the day, a colored lipstick or lipgloss can be applied, which also gives the effect that you may look more put together than you actually are for your 8 a.m. class.
Following the makeup routine is the hair routine. This is a different process every day because people tend to wear many different hairstyles. If you’re lucky and you wake up with beautiful straight or perfectly curly hair, you’re winning at life. Unfortunately, I’m not one of those people. I need to spend a little bit of time on my hair in the morning to ensure that I don’t look like I just rolled out of bed. Occasionally, you can just throw it into a bun and go on your way. Other days you could spend a little more time and take out a flat iron either to quickly take the frizz out or to create beach waves. No matter what look you end up deciding on, make sure it is clean, cute, and comfortable.
