SOS, please someone help me — I am still recovering from the Rihanna performance at the Super Bowl Sunday night. Calling it “unreal” would be an understatement to describe that performance. From the mashup of songs, to the pregnancy announcement, to her iconic red outfit, it will, without a doubt, go down in halftime show history.
While this was a football event, the fashionistas and Fenty-lovers definitely had plenty to talk about. We already knew bright red was going to be a hot color this year, but Rihanna solidified this for us by sporting this color head-to-toe making her pop next to her backup dancers who wore all-white, puffy sweatsuits.
Her monochromatic look consisted of a fitted red catsuit and leather bustier that she layered with a cargo-style jumpsuit and belt, unzipped just enough to reveal her second pregnancy. She had two different red coats throughout the 13-minute performance: the first being a red leather puffer, followed by an oversized red maxi puffer to conclude her set. She accessorized with red sneakers, gloves, a bold, red lip, and very fittingly, diamond earrings.
Opening with “B—, Better Have My Money” and ending with “Diamonds,” every moment and song kept us on our toes. Who knew dressing in one color could be so interesting?
