In 2017, we’re all about girl power. After the momentum of 2016 (#NastyWoman, anyone?), we’re focusing on building each other up and supporting each other’s successes.
One of the best parts of being in college is all the time spent with friends. We’re so lucky to have a community of incredible ladies right on campus. We’re working to show that appreciation even more in the new year by planning activities to get our entire #GuruGang together.
Below are three simple ways to celebrate your friendship in an exciting new light!
1. Have Weekly Viewing Parties of Your Favorite Show — Take an hour out of your week to recharge with your favorite show. Get your friends together, put on some face masks, and indulge with M&Ms and popcorn. Our pick this semester? Riverdale on The CW — it’s a mix between two of our CW favorites: Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries. The show puts a modern twist on the classic Archie comics with Betty and Veronica (the awesome Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes) acting as best friends rather than frenemies. Tune-in to the series premiere January 26th at 9/8c!

2. Take a Monthly Road Trip — At the start of the semester, have each member of your #GuruGang write down a destination on a piece of paper. (Make them realistic — cool, local places that you haven’t had the chance to try yet.) Then, fold them up and put them in a mason jar. At the start of each month, pick out one of the destinations and plan a weekend road trip to that spot! New adventures never disappoint.

3. Organize a Closet Swap — Let’s face it, by mid-semester you’re already knee-deep in your friend’s closet anyway. Set up a closet swap with your closest friends where you each bring pieces you no longer love. Seeing your friends give your clothes a second life will make you feel empowered and inspired!
