From a young age, we are taught certain rules. Don’t talk to strangers. Don’t take something that isn’t yours. Don’t go swimming within 30 minutes after you eat. And certainly, whatever you do, don’t wear white after Labor Day. While some of these make sense for civility and life purposes, there are some “rules” that feel more like myths. (Like do you actually know anyone who has drowned simply because they had a sandwich 15 minutes before they jumped in the pool?)
So while you may live the rest of your life according to the books, when it comes to fashion, be a rule breaker. Put those fashion “myths” to the bed by testing your personal style and the status quo. Because, let’s be real, you don’t earn the title of “Fashionista” without breaking a few rules along the way.
In the spirit of breaking rules, check out these nine fashion myths our Style Gurus are debunking with a single OOTD. (Consider them a fashionable mic drop, if you will.)
