‘Tis the season for spring cleaning. Whether you are super Type A and live for a good cleaning sesh or are doing this under duress and/or to conform to healthy and safety standards, it is time to tackle your closet.
There is something so refreshing about going through everything you own and deciding what you “need” and then what actually need. Luckily, we are here to help with the “actually need” part. Because besides getting rid of that 14th white T-shirt, there are some trends you should consider parting with as well.
As you embark on your own spring cleaning project, check out the five trends we suggest you keep, as well as the five you should lose this season.
Lose—Blanket scarf. If you need an all consuming scarf at this point in the year, there are larger issues at hand than your style choice.
Keep—Bandana. Part-camp counselor, part-cool girl, this neck-cessory is all you need to wrap yourself in this spring.

Lose—Low-rise. We all have belly buttons, so no need to show yours off.
Keep—High-rise. Denim. Skirts. Culottes. Swimsuits. The higher the waistline, the better.

Lose—Contacts. Pretending you have 20/20 vision is so 2015.
Keep—Statement eyeglasses. You can clearly see why we love this trend that combines our inner nerd with our medical necessity for glasses. Function and fashion? Yes, please.

Lose—Cocktail rings. Let’s be honest—the only “party” you are attending these days is a late night soirée at the library.
Keep—Dainty rings. There is something so easy and feminine about a stack of simple rings. They’re the gold standard in jewelry this season.

Lose—Cut-out boots. Just like the word “fetch,” let’s stop trying to make warm weather boots a thing.
Keep—White sneakers. We plan on wearing these retro kicks with everything that we might as well sleep in them (and get like four pairs).
