I love my heels, I mean who doesn’t? They are the best accessory. I remember when I bought my first pair for eighth grade graduation. Man, I felt like a woman (kind of an ironic sentence, no?). Anyway I felt instantly more adult, more glamorous. I was a new lady! I have broken through that barrier of flats and sneakers only. It was like I unlocked a character on my favorite video game, I had discovered new land! Then this happened. On my way to get my diploma my heel got caught on my shoe and I tripped and my shoe fell off. In front of a whole auditorium. To make matters worse I was the last to be called so there was no one behind me to block the view of the absolute tragedy happening before 300 pairs of eyes! Embarrassed and lets not forget, shoeless, I stumbled up to accept my diploma. So this new discovery, the new sense of purpose I thought I had, this supposed unlocked video gamer character; betrayed me. 5 years later, I own about 15 pairs of high heels and have enjoyed my time in them, so the story did not completely ruin my relationship with these risky, but beautiful footwear. However, after that event my view on sneakers definitely was rejuvenated and I equally love them as much as I do my heels.
So “sneakers better than heels” strikes you as a bit of a stretch? Well, to me too. However, I do believe they can be equally stylish. And this Fashionista proves that statement true! Sneakers have made such a “comeback” as a shoe that can be just a rad as a heel. These sneakers add such an unexpected edge to the outfit! During the summer, sandals are the go to. So switching it up with a staple sneaker like the ones featured is a fun way to make your everyday outfit stand out. You will have an edgy, yet adorable vibe and everyone will love it! Paring these with a distressed denim and simple T-shirt like our Fashionista did, truly made for a rugged and effortlessly cool look. Staples make for statements with the right accessories! Throw on a sleek backpack and some funky jewelry and you are off to make heads turn with your uniquely edgy outfit! Maybe I will follow my own advice and avoid a future visit with the pavement!
