STYLE ADIVCE OF THE WEEK: Simply Casual

This semester has almost ended and for those of you who are staying on campus for the summer, you only have a week off for vacation! Summer classes can get in the way of organizing your social life, but if you prioritize your schedule correctly you can definitely have the best of both worlds. Dressing casually can often help with the transition from class to the social scene. Jeans and button-downs can be your best friend this time of year.

Even though during May and early June the Michigan weather can be a little crisp in the mornings, dressing for the crazy weather transitions can be a breeze. Depending on the weather difference for the day, you can choose a pair of boyfriend jeans paired with a striped T-shirt. This combination is super simple and looks great in any setting. You could even splurge on a new pair of Birkenstocks. If the weather is aimed to be hotter, a conservative pair of high-waisted shorts will work. Crop tops can be an awesome trend to add to high-waisted looks. Throw a button-up on top for class then around your waist when you meet up with your friends.

This Fashionista has layered a sweater over a tank and a classic pair of blue jeans. She keeps things simple while traveling from work to class by packing her essentials. Her Tory Burch wristlet is the perfect size to carry chapstick and No. 2 pencil. Her style can be adapted for a day on the town by swapping out the sweater for a flannel or light sports jacket. You could even throw some tennis shoes in the mix! Don’t forget to have fun and study hard!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Try to adapt your fall and winter clothes into a brighter spring look to save a little cash. Then you can splurge on a few summer must-haves. A big tip I have during exams is to pack minimally. If you take to much stuff with you to the library you’ll get distracted and overwhelmed while trying to study.”
