In a campus full of students anxiously waiting to start their weekend on a chilly Friday afternoon, this Fashionista immediately caught my eye. She was walking with purpose in her loafers and with her burgundy bag in hand. She effortlessly worked a vogue look as her everyday style and I can’t get enough!
Though you can often catch me sporting the messy bun and legging vibe here at UF, I love the idea of getting dressed up and really owning it—no matter where you’re headed. Confidence is key, right? So this is my style advice to you: you absolutely do not need a special occasion to kill the game and take your outfit to the next level. If you’re the best dressed showing up to the library or Chik-fil-A, then more power to you. Get it.
Cashmere is gorgeous and looks amazing in this look, but you can still put a similar outfit together without having to break the bank, after all, this is CollegeFashionista, not graduated-and-earning-a-real-life-salary-Fashionista. Any trench coat will work just as well! They’re versatile, cozy, and contrast well with a structured winter satchel like the one this Fashionista is holding. Burgundy is everywhere lately, and I think it adds a great pop of color to a monochromatic outfit, and if you’re really feeling extra—a bold burgundy lip to match the bag would work perfectly. The loafers bring a certain sophistication to the look that I can’t get enough of, and are the perfect day-time, casual shoe.
I was inspired by this Fashionista because she owned a chic and modern look as her everyday style. Though not all of us may have the energy or time to put together an outfit like this daily, it can be a confidence booster and day maker to get dressed up every once in a while! Brew some coffee, explore your closet, get creative, and own it.
