2017 seems to be the year that I’m regretting the clothes I’ve gotten rid of in the past. Chokers, band T-shirts, velvet, and now even Juicy Couture tracksuits are making a comeback. Nowadays with most of the things I’m wearing my Mom claims she wore something similar if not exactly the same “back in her day.” From now on, even if I grow out of my favorite pieces, I’m going to hold on to them for the future.
I loved this Fashionista’s look when I spotted her on campus because it consists of multiple classics. By definition a classic style in fashion is something that is repeatedly popular every season or is trending frequently. The three classics in this Fashionista’s outfit are the leather jacket, graphic T-shirt, and skinny jeans.
Leather jackets are one of my favorite classics because it’s the easiest way to create an edgier look for class and it’s the perfect jacket for a night out! This Fashionista paired hers with an awesome band T-shirt. These T-shirts never go out of style, and especially lately with many retailers even adapting artists’ tour merch to their own store collections. Lastly, the skinny jeans on this Fashionista were the perfect match to tuck into her boots. Although it may seem like skinny jeans are becoming a thing of the past with the rise in popularity of mom jeans and boyfriend jeans, in my opinion skinny jeans are here to stay. You always need a good pair to tuck into boots!
Classic styles make excellent investment pieces because it’s almost guaranteed that they’ll always be in style or be on trend frequently. A classic style also means that they’ll be available at various price points. So whether you shop fast fashion, department stores, or higher end retailers, there will always be classics available to fit your budget and your look. My advice would be that these pieces are definitely worth the investment!
