We all know just how edgy a simple leather jacket can be. It is the perfect addition piece to spice up any look and give you the bad girl vibe you are going for. Heck! It’s the perfect transition from day to night piece! Yet, after seeing leather jacket after leather jacket, this trend gets to be kind of boring. That’s why when I saw this Fashionista zip up her already edgy leather jacket into something two times as edgy, I was blown away.
The base of her outfit is fairly simple. She wore a pair of comfortable go-to jeans with a neat rip detail in the knee and paired them with a feminine, lacy tank. These two pieces are something most of us already own which is even better, as it saves us poor college kids big bucks! She added a pair of heeled black boots and a hard gold necklace to give her a little more edge but pulled the whole “wow” effect together with this terrific jacket. While it may seem simple at first, there is no denying her outfit maxes out the edgy vibe unzipped AND zipped.
This leather jacket doubles the edginess of her look and really got me thinking about just how important a statement piece is to any outfit. I used to think that a “statement” piece had to be something with a crazy color, weird design, or an odd shape. And now I realize that that is not necessarily true. And so here is my style advice to you. You don’t have to own something crazy weird in order to make a statement or look fierce. Find an article of clothing that just simply makes you say “wow” and rock it! As this Fashionista shows us, even a simple piece of clothing can give new life to a trend or style and amp up your edginess times a million!
