STYLE ADVICE: Embroider Everything

Recently, I have been spotting embroidered jeans, shirts, tops and more on students all over campus as well as from top fashion bloggers. Personally, I love the embroidered look and even included it in a forecasting project I did in class last year. When I spotted this Fashionista rocking an embroidered top I knew it was the perfect outfit for my article.

A quick search on Pinterest of the word embroidery will bring up some amazing inspiration and DIY tips for those of us who like to take a trend and literally make it our own. For those who are less DIY and more buy then take inspiration from this Fashionista. Do not be scared to rock this trend, even though it can sometimes be a lot on one garment. She went for a more monochrome look by pairing the black top from Zara with black pants, black heeled boots, and a dark gray coat. Since embroidery can sometimes be a lot to add to an outfit, consider taking the monochrome route. The way this Fashionista styled her outfit makes the colors of the embroidery pop out as the focal point of the outfit. The way she styled a more formal top with simple black pants makes the look the perfect amount of casual to sit in class all day while looking fashionable at the same time.
For those who want to pair more color with their favorite embroidered pieces then consider pulling a color from the embroidery to include. This Fashionista could pull the emerald green or mustard yellow from the shirt and choose pants, a skirt, or shoes in either color to add a pop of color to her look. This outfit could easily transition to a night out by simply swapping the black pants for a black leather skirt. For make-up, she chose simple black winged eyeliner and a red lip, which also draws a color from the embroidery. Again she is contrasting the intense embroidery pattern by choosing simple jewelry including hoop earrings and a few rings. As you can see, this trend is easy to master and can be styled in endless ways, even for those trying to keep it casual and simple.
