Ah, there’s no place like home…especially for the holidays. When finals ended, I was eager to head home for winter break. For me, home is the city of angels, Los Angeles. One of the many things I love about L.A. is the effortless street style. Casual and comfort always win here, but that doesn’t take away from the art of fashion here in California.
The weather was unexpectedly rainy this winter day in Santa Monica. There’s something so beautiful about being by the beach on a winter’s day… possibly because it’s so rare here since the sun’s always out. The cold weather is always a treat, and so is bundling up. You won’t see too many thermals, rain jackets or Hunter boots in L.A. since they’re a bit excessive for a slight drizzle. Think more simple pieces like a warm sweater. This Fashionista stayed cozy in an outfit that perfectly captures L.A.’s cool girl style in December.
This duster gray cardigan definitely steals the spotlight against an all black outfit. It’s such a simple yet versatile piece that should be a staple in everyone’s closet. In fact, this entire look consists of staple pieces: black high-waisted jeans, a basic T-shirt, and ankle boots. Anyone can recreate this outfit with pieces they already own. I love the way she added her own flare to this outfit with her pink puff ball adorned on her monogrammed Madewell bag. The black panama hat is just the cherry on top of this minimalist look.
Cheers and Happy New Year, everyone! Stay tuned for some 2017 campus looks!
