Here in the Midwest, we get the luxury of experiencing the full spin of Mother Nature. One day it will be -20 degrees and within 24 hours you could be taking a nice stroll in the 50-degree weather. At one point over my winter break, the temperature in Iowa was actually colder than Antarctica. Crazy, I know!
This particular outfit is for those 50-degree days when Mother Nature decides to get your hopes up that winter might be coming to an end. I found this stylish Fashionista on campus in a jean jacket that really caught my eye. I have always loved jean jackets, but sometimes they can be stiff and not the most comfortable thing in my closet. What made me do a double take of this outfit was the fact that it was a dream come true. A cute jean jacket with sweatshirt sleeves! This jacket allows her to achieve the look she wants while being completely comfortable. It’s a win-win if you ask me.
The graphic T-shirt underneath the jacket really pulls this outfit together. It says, “Vibes speak louder than words,” but let’s be honest with ourselves it should read, “Style speaks louder than words.” The color scheme she has going on is my favorite. Even though my closet mainly consists of black, I love adding in forest green or maroon because it incorporates a pop of color without being too distracting.
I absolutely love accessories so when I saw the long gold necklace and combat boots I knew I had to share this Fashionista with everyone. The necklace is a nice simple touch that could complete almost any outfit. These combat boots are the cutest ones I’ve seen because they aren’t too over the top. They are a nice laid back color and are made from a comfortable faux suede material.
I fell in love with this style because it is so similar to mine and I think it really speaks for Midwest fashion. It really is a love-hate relationship to be able to wear a jacket one day and have to bundle up in a ton of layers the next. But when it comes down to it, we get the best of both worlds and have the opportunity to mix up our style every day, so thank you Mother Nature.
